Business Plan & Strategy

SuperFriend’s mission is to reduce the incidence of suicide and the impact of mental illness on individuals, employers, workplaces, friends and families.

Supported by the Industry Funds Forum's participating industry superannuation funds concerned about member mental health, SuperFriend brings together key stakeholders from the industry funds, group life insurers and the mental health sector to deliver this unique initiative. It’s through these strongly collaborative, multi-sector partnerships that we’re able to facilitate targeted initiatives (programs, information, resources, activities and research) about mental health and wellbeing to benefit industry fund members and other stakeholders.

As a mental health promotion charity, our initiatives are designed to address the full spectrum of mental health – providing workplaces with effective responses to supporting members dealing with mental illness or languishing through to encouraging good mental wellbeing or flourishing.

We are continuing to gain momentum and influence. Building on our achievements to date, we have been successful in driving awareness and engaging communication about mental illness, mental health and wellbeing across the industry superannuation sector; evident in the spotlight this topic has achieved at every significant conference, industry event and symposium over the last 12 months.

We’re keen to build on this momentum. The 2011-2012 year will be one of building and developing key initiatives, with the major objectives to significantly advance the existing activities that are underway.

We’re committed to developing and implementing a sustainable business plan that clearly outlines where the Foundation is going, what we aim to achieve and how we will do this.
