Deborah Kennedy

Program Development Manager
SuperFriend

Deborah joined the SuperFriend team in June as the Foundation’s Program Development Manager. In this role she is responsible for ensuring that the SuperFriend programs are developed and delivered to meet the needs of fund members, employers and our supporting stakeholders. This means she works hard to ensure the programs are best practice, value for money and have a positive impact on the lives of industry super fund members and employers.

Deborah was attracted to SuperFriend not only because of the potential positive impact it can have on people’s lives, but also because it is specific to the workplace. “There is a saying that if you find something you love to do you will never work a day in your life”, says Deborah. “Work is such a huge part of our lives, impacting on our families, friends and our own health. The opportunity to support people in their work is very appealing.”

Passionate about fairness and equity, Deborah is driven by a desire to see fairness in the workplace for people with mental health issues. She would like to see an increase in the general knowledge of mental illnesses and destigmatisation of people with mental illness.

When she’s not at work, Deborah is passionate about family, friends, food and Melbourne. She enjoys the things that most Melburnians enjoy – coffee, reading the paper, going to the market, walking and eating delicious food. Inspired by creativity, if Deborah could choose a person from history to spend an afternoon with she would pick Frank Lloyd Wright. “His approach to the built environment and its impact on our daily life and happiness was amazing,” she says.
