SuperFriend's website has been developed in accordance with best practice, and includes a number of assistive technology features to better facilitate browsing and navigation, detailed below.
Features
Javascript
This site works best with Javascript enabled in your browser. Javascript is used for accessibility controls and text size switching throughout the site, as well as pre-loading some parts of the page to speed up the response time.
Text Resizing
The site's text can be resized to provide easier readability. You can make the text size on this website larger or smaller using the following keyboard commands:
Depending on the operating system that you are using, you can hold down the CTRL key (Microsoft Windows) or the ‘Apple’ key (Mac OS X) on your keyboard, and:
- Press the + key to increase text size, repeat until the desired size is achieved
- Press the - key to decrease text size, repeat until the desired size is achieved
- You can also scroll with your mouse wheel to make text bigger or smaller
- Press the 0 (zero) key to revert to the default text size
Screen Readers
To enable better usability for screen readers, a "Skip to content" control is located on every page of the site. This control will only be displayed for screen readers, but all browsers can use the Access Keys explained below.

Navigational Aids
- All pages have a link back to the home page in the navigation bar
- SuperFriend's logo on the top left of the website will also return you to the home page
- Where relevant, web pages offer links to related pdf downloads in the right hand side of the text content
- Where relevant, sub navigation is also included in the left hand side of the page
Access Keys
Access keys are shortcuts using the keyboard, intended to help users who have difficulties using a mouse. The user can employ these access keys to jump to particular, relevant content.

Different browsers require slightly different keyboard combinations to use access keys:
- Internet Explorer 5+ (PC): Hold down the ALT key, press the number of the access key, release both keys then press ENTER
- FireFox 1.0.4+ (PC): Hold down the SHIFT and ALT key and press the number of the access key.
- FireFox 1.0.4+ (Mac): Hold down the CTRL key and press the number of the access key.
- Opera 8.0+ (PC & Mac): Press Shift, Escape and then the number of the access key.
Access keys are supported by the following web browsers:
- FireFox 0.8+ (PC and Mac)
- Internet Explorer 4+ (Windows), 5+ (Mac)
- Opera 7 (Windows and Linux)
Site Search
A quick way to find what you are looking for, the site search function is located on the top right of the website, and appears on every page. Search can also be accessed via the search page, simply enter your search term and press Enter, or click “Search”.
